Departure: Ålesund

The Art nouveau town of Ålesund is a perfect starting point for excursions in the beautiful surroundings. It is the largest city in the province of Møre og Romsdal and it has a unique setting across several islands streching out into the Atlantic Ocean. Destroyed in 1904 by a devastating fire it is now noted for its concentration of Art Nouveau style. More than 400 buildings with this typical architecture, decorated with towers, turrets and imaginative and colourful ornaments can be found all around the center. The best place to have a spectacular panoramic view over the town and the surrounding area is from the city mountain Aklsa. Ålesund is also a very important fishing harbour and it is homebase for Norway`s largest cod-fishing fleet.

Geiranger

The small touristic village of Geiranger lies at the end of one of the most beautiful norwegian fjords, the Geirangerfjord. With its unique S- shape, its steep mountains diving into the blue water, the high waterfalls and abandoned mountain farms it has been included on UNESCO’s list of World Heritage sites.
3

Stordal

A typical municipality of the eastern part of Norway, located along the inner Storfjorden. One of the few buildings located on the steep mountainside on the west side of the fjord is Ytste Skotet, a preserved historic farm/museum.
